Judging & Fair Rules

Welcome to the 2020 Rotary Central Science Fair

The science fair is an annual event designed to foster an interest in science, scientific method of problem solving and the sense of accomplishment and discovery that comes with preparing a science project, for students in Grand Cayman. Initiated in 2006 and financially supported by Rotary Central, the success of the science fair would not be possible without the dedicated support of school science teachers, participating students, parents, and corporate sponsors. Rotary Central is grateful for this support.

Rotary Central’s Science Fair is an annual competition held in the Cayman Islands that allows students to demonstrate their science skills and compete for major Prizes to assist them with future college studies. Runner up prizes will also be awarded. The final display and judging will be held on Saturday, 18th April at Camana Bay’s ARC facility. This will be followed by the Awards Banquet where parents will be most welcome.

With the government and public health advice recommending the restriction of large gatherings of people due to COVID-19, we believe it prudent for the safety of Cayman's children and our community to postpone the 2020 Rotary Science Fair. We understanding there will be disappointment for our students who have been working hard of their projects, but it is paramount that we put everyone's health and safety first. We hope to reschedule the event when we are advised it is safe to do so.

Thanks so much.
